Overview

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Exceptional Temporary Part-time Opportunity, 20 hours per week for 6 weeks

— Memory-Care Program | Inpatient Correctional Setting

Why You’ll Love This Role

  • Shape a New Program: Help support refine an on-site rehab service for memory-care patients. Your input matters—from treatment protocols to daily workflows.

  • Autonomy + Support: Work one-on-one with patients while partnering closely with a supervising PT, nurses, and other providers who value collaboration over hierarchy.

  • Competitive Compensation: We recognize specialized skill—expect a strong salary, full benefits, and the resources you need to thrive.

  • Safety First: On-site security means a controlled, predictable environment—often safer than home-health visits to unknown settings.

  • Impact That Lasts: Improve quality of life for a vulnerable population by restoring mobility, boosting independence, and preserving dignity.

Responsibilities

What You’ll Do

  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic exercise, gait training, manual techniques, and ADL instruction under the direction of a licensed Physical Therapist.

  • Assist in creating and progressing individualized care plans that address cognitive and motor challenges common to dementia and related conditions.

  • Track and document outcomes, reporting changes promptly to the PT and interdisciplinary team.

  • Educate patients (and staff, when appropriate) on safe mobility, fall-prevention, and strategies that optimize functional independence.

  • Contribute to a culture of safety by maintaining equipment, adhering to security protocols, and ensuring a therapeutic environment at all times.

Qualifications

What You’ll Bring

  • Accredited PTA Degree and current (or eligible) Ohio PTA license.

  • Experience—or a strong interest—in geriatrics, neuro, or memory-care populations.

  • Confidence working autonomously while remaining fully aligned with your supervising PT.

  • Clear, compassionate communication skills and a team-first mindset.
